Change of Plans

60 Degree Day

Today’s post was supposed to be a recipe.  It’s a recipe that still needs photographing, though, and, because I can’t leave well enough alone, one more round of testing.  None of that happened.

Last night was one of those rare, random nights when Roman decided he just didn’t want to sleep.  We bedshare, and he kept popping up, wide awake and raring to go.  Meanwhile I was feeling so tired that it seemed the room was wobbling.  Chris and I took turns trying to coax him back down until we all finally settled back into bed sometime nearing dawn.  Needless to say, none of us got very much sleep.

Chris took this week off, and we had made big plans to rent a Zipcar and do some serious shopping this afternoon, on top of my aspirations of making and photographing a recipe for you guys.  It all got scrapped.  Most of this was necessity; Chris and I both had that woozy, queasy feeling of having pulled an all-nighter, the kind that makes you remember churning out last-minute research papers in college.  But it also wound up being unseasonably warm today–60 degrees!–and we decided that our time would be best spent at the playground and in the park.  We salvaged the day and wound up having a really nice afternoon.

But this all means I don’t have that recipe ready to share.  With everything else we have planned, the holiday, and family visits, I don’t think I’ll have it ready for you this week either.  It could have been a delicious side at the Thanksgiving table, too.  Ah well.  Let me know if you’d still like the recipe for a vegan Pumpkin Mac sometime in December. 😉
